About star
The automotive industry needs a range of semiconductor technology breakthroughs to fulfill its promise of next-gen electric and software-defined vehicles. These range from extremely efficient power electronics to high-performance compute units and compact and energy-efficient sensors. And so, the industry also needs to attract and retain sufficient talent to implement all these innovations.
Aligning semiconductor and automotive innovation
Making progress is not only a question of technical brilliance. It also hinges on the ability to align semiconductor technology advances with the strategic objectives of the automotive sector.
Following the increasing interest for imec’s Automotive Chiplet Alliance Conference, now Automotive Chiplet Forum, star was established to enable this continuous conversation between automotive and semiconductor experts. The platform aims to unite the industry with research and technology organizations (RTOs) and universities. The coordination will be handled by imec, the world’s leading independent semiconductor R&D hub.
